Remedial & Sports Massage
Remedial Massage
Remedial massage is the assessment and treatment of pain, tension, dysfunction, and injury that can exist in the soft tissue (muscles, fascia, ligament, and tendon). Using a range of screening and assessments, our therapists determine the appropriate techniques to use such as massage, stretching, and exercise prescription in an evidence-based approach to treatment.
Common complaints addressed using Remedial Massage include:
- Poor posture
- Headache
- Back pain
- Neck & shoulder pain
- Stress & anxiety
The body is continually filtering physical, mental, and physiological demands. As the tension builds in our system the body has to work harder to maintain a sense of wellbeing and balance. Stress, increases in exercise, poor posture, lack of movement and activity are all examples of demands that exacerbate unwanted tension and the injury potential in the body.
