I have just completed the Absolute Health & Performance Running Assessment Package.
The assessment was a really thorough review of my mobility, stability, balance, strength and control. As someone who trains with weights regularly, I was amazed how different the two sides of my body were in terms of mobility and stability. Clearly exercising for strength and running are different things. The videoing of my running before and after some activation exercises highlighted issues with my running style, and how it could be improved with some simple exercises.
Initially, I thought three sessions seemed a lot of time; but in hindsight it really provided the opportunity to do a thorough assessment when I was fresh and fatigued, and to review and address my running technique.
I now have a comprehensive musculoskeletal and running assessment with objective data, an exercise plan to address the weaknesses, and a running plan to get me back on the track and stay there!

I recently had a running assessment with the physio at Absolute Health & Performance. I was unaware of how poor my running technique was and how this had likely correlated with several injuries over the years, including 2 knee surgeries. My running assessment package with the physio included slow motion filming of my technique, a range of exercises to address strength and movement, along with a structured and easy to follow plan moving forward.
We have now come up with a strategy to address my technique and strength issues, with these changes being relatively easy to implement. In the past month since making these small changes I have recorded my best 2km time trial time, and feel confident leading into this football season that I will remain injury free.
