Structural Bodywork is a holistic and scientifically proven technique originating from the work of Dr. Ida Rolf, a biochemist at Columbia University in the early 1940’s. Structural Bodywork helps restore postural balance, ease of movement, and a feeling of being more at home in your own body by treating the connective tissue (fascia).
Structural Bodywork is practiced in an organised series of sessions, or individual sessions, within a framework that is designed to restore postural balance, by aligning and integrating the body with its horizontal and vertical lines of gravity.
Injury, stress, and work-related repetitive movements can cause fascia to lose its elasticity and become tighter and stuck down in areas of the body. Tightened fascia pulls our muscles and skeleton out of proper alignment and posture, which can cause pain, discomfort, and fatigue.
